
Brand Discovery Session
Are you a new business that is looking for brand clarity to underpin your brand identity, audience segments and communication strategy? Or, are you an established business that feels you have lost your way in terms of your brand, or evolved beyond what you initially set out to be? No matter what your circumstances, a Brand Discovery Session is the perfect way to get internal alignment and consensus on who you are, who you speak to, and how you do it.
This is a one-off project that will take approximately 4-6 weeks to complete. The scale, scope, and cost of the project will depend on the size and complexity of the business, the number of stakeholders involved, and the agreed outputs and deliverables. This will be discussed on an initial scoping call and will be outlined in the project proposal.
How a Brand Discovery Session Works
Phase 1: Research & Preparation
Once we agree on the project direction and deliverables, and the project contract is signed, the research phase begins. This will typically include:
Reviewing internal assets (website, social media, marketing/sales collateral).
Conducting competitor and market analysis.
Customer/ Employee Surveys- an optional extra.
Using this data and your business objectives to plan the agenda for the Brand Discovery Session.
Phase 2: The Brand Discovery Session (2–3 Hours)
During an in-person session with your key stakeholders, we will explore and clarify:
Your Brand: Identity, vision, mission, and tone of voice.
Your Audience: Key customer segments and their needs.
Your Value Proposition: What sets you apart?
SWOT Analysis: Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
Assumptions Workshop: Challenging the assumptions you are making about your business, your product/service, your customer, the market, the future.
Prioritised Objectives: Clear goals and actionable steps for success.
Phase 3: Deliverables
After the Discovery Session, I will compile and share detailed notes with all attendees to ensure alignment and accuracy. These notes form the foundation for the agreed-upon deliverables, which may include:
A Brand Book outlining your brand’s identity and messaging.
A tailored Marketing Plan or Communication Strategy.
Detailed job specifications for new roles within your team.
A roadmap of key activities and milestones.
Defined KPIs to measure success across business functions.
Note: Deliverables are agreed upon during the scoping and proposal stage and will vary based on the specific needs and scale of your project.
